I found this place horrifying (so did my 18 year old son). It wasn't necessarily the gore, it was just the overwhelming horror of feeling like you were associating with serial killers. The first room contained letters that Richard Ramirez wrote to a friend about sending him "literature" while in prison....I really really really wish I could blank this experience from my mind. We both literally lasted 5 minutes in the museum. We sat out in front for a while and everyone that left had a horrified look on their face. Not quite sure what I expected, I mean, as a kid I loved seeing the shrunken heads at the Snow Museum in Oakland, but this was a whole different ballgame.

It's not bad at all

It's good, but each room is worse. I almost passed out and I'm not someone who you would consider with a "weak stomach". I'm also a psychology major which is one of the many things that brought me here. I'm fascinated by serial killers and their past, this place is very real and provides you with some explicit content. I started sweating cold by the last two rooms. I still reccomend this place.

If you can take a good gory horror movie or video game they should be able to handle it.

There are many pictures of dead bodies. Some are gorey, some are mild. There are videos of autopsies and funeral home embalming demonstration videos that show actual procedures being done on corpses. There are even a few servered heads on display. I found it fascinating, but if blood makes you feel faint then I would pass on this one.

My husband asked the person who works there if they ever have anyone throw up. He said, about once a week but more commonly people pass out... all the time.

Only if you go with someone who has been before and can steer you away from the more graphic exhibits, or ask an employee what to avoid.

It just depends on your tolerance level in regards to gore/dark subject matter/death in general. Personally, the closest that I got to uncomfortable in this museum was viewing the mass murder photography showcased in one of the later rooms, but overall, I don’t consider it to be bad. On the other hand, I’ve brought friends before that I’ve had to escort past about half of the museum material due to their fear of the subject matter. I’ve also heard from employees that people pass out in the museum on a regular basis out of fear as well. So, just be prepared. Know your limits, and you’ll be okay. With the new location coming soon, I’m not quite sure what changes will be made— but just know that if worse comes to worse and you decide that the museum is just not for you, that’s totally okay! You can always walk back to the front via the same way you came.

I have a strong stomach but some parts actually made me feel a little queasy. As a matter of fact before I went in a grown woman ran out and started vomiting

I didn’t think it was that bad. Unless I have a strong stomach. Certainly didn’t pass out that’s for sure!
