The frosting that's typically used is made with confectioners sugar, water and vanilla extract. This creates a rather super sweet rather disgusting frosting. Another type is with fondant because it can be shaped and molded easier and is typically used when making wedding and themed type cakes and is also very sweet and overpowers the flavor of the cake itself but makes it look pretty. This is why I asked about frosting. The only Place in Waltham I can find that uses the whipped cream frosting is BJ's. Sometimes I forget to order in time so I end up making a cake or cupcakes myself just so I know they'll taste awesome with both texture of the cake or cupcakes and the frosting will complement and not overpower.
