Yes, you have to have a membership to shop at Costco and buy Costco gas. They have 2 types of membership, basic ($55.00 per year) and executive ($110.00 per year) Executive gives you a slightly better percentage back at the end of the year.
If you get a Costco gift card from someone, you can shop there without a membership.

Yes. We find it is worth it. You buy in larger quantities but the process are much lower than grocery stores. It's not even close. For example, you can get two or three times the quantities of blueberries for the same price at Costco as you would at Publix. And Costco is now carrying a lot of organic produce. So that's great. They also have a no questions return policy. One of the best things about Costco. Those are some of the things you get for your membership. Definitely worth it.
