I'm seriously considering coming to your facility to adopt a little dog and bring it to a new 4ever home. Just curious about some suggestions from people. I'm a diehard dog lover but we've had 2 cats 4 a long time but unfortunately both have passed

I say look over all the dogs there, then follow your heart!! Don't limit yourself or the dogs based on their color, size, breed, age, etc. Older dogs are usually potty trained. And you're right, they have a smaller chance of being adopted. Black dogs are more often overlooked, also. Bully-breeds are what fill the shelters to capacity are the breed most overlooked. They are the most misunderstood and misjudged breed of dog, by far. They are awesome dogs! I know, I have a Staffordshire Terrier! Please don't rule out rescuing a Bully-breed! You will never regret it if you adopt a pit-bull type dog, I promise!! Regardless what size, breed, color, age of for you adopt, the shelter offers free training classes for the dogs and their new guardians. Therefore, if there is an issue that come up, you will have a resource to help you and your new pet! So, like I said, get the dog that speaks to your heart, and all the rest will fall into place!!

We have great dogs and the older dogs most certainly need good loving homes as they are sometimes forgotten. We have many for you to choose from. Come in and someone will gladly help you.

What I failed to say was that its been a very long time since having a dog because we had a few days for almost 20yrs. I was just asking for a few suggestions for whay might be a good breed for a house dog. Is their a good choice on a small-medium sized dog that'll suit our needs. Playful, somewhat easily trained ,good with small kids or other dog's(big or small). Not too mention would a Pup be the best choice or maybe an older dog who's got maybe a smaller chance of being adopted over a lil puppy which would have a better one of getting adopted.
