Depends on the day. Fridays and Saturdays are pretty packed. Thursday nights on opening weekend are pretty packed. I usually go for matinee, it's cheaper not as crowded!
It's not usually crowded when we go. But we tend to go at low-peak times (not Fri or Sat).
Of course that depends on the film, time of day/night. Seems if you are going solo, a matinee or early show might give you space. During the night screening, especially during the weekends, might be a bit tighter for seating. Either way, it is a time to relax enjoy and envelop yourself in a good story on screen.
