This time of year is very busy at the Santa Barbara Airport and sometimes the Short and Long Term Parking lots are full. If this is the case, please go to the Long Term Lot 2 off of Hollister and Lopez Road. A shuttle will take you back to the airline terminal...they run every 15 minutes. There is also road construction happening now through June 13 which will delay your arrival by 5 minutes. Keep all of this in mind when navigating your departure and enjoy your trip! Valerie. The airlines can board the aircraft 30 minutes prior to departure. TSA usually takes no more than 5-10 minutes. However, I would suggest you give yourself a minimum of 40 minutes from the time you are dropped off in front of the terminal with BOARDING PASS and NO CHECKED BAGGAGE in hand in order to have a hassle free experience.
