Cute small zoo in Santa Barbara. Staff were friendly and it looks like the inhabitants are well cared for. A must visit if you have little ones. Our teenager liked it as well, but we spent 2 hours there vs what can be a day trip for little kids.

Awesome place that we took the kids to. Smaller than some of the other zoos that we visited, which actually made it so we didn't have to walk as much LOL. Very well kept, animals well taken care of and healthy. One of the best giraffes exhibits we've experienced yet, the giraffes head was about an inch from my hand, with no glass or gate between. They even have a giraffe feeding time that you can take advantage of. We will be going back for sure.

We love this zoo! We visit from Corona, CA, just about every year as we stay in Ventura at our family's timeshare. It's small enough not to be tiring and take all day, but has a great variety of animals and exhibits. You currently need to make reservations ahead of time, but it's super easy to do online and you can just show the codes on your phone- no need for a printer. We haven't had any issues buying tickets the last 2 times we've visited under these new terms. They've opened an Australian Walkabout encounter where you get to walk into an open animal exhibit with kangaroo, wallaby & emu. You can't touch them, obviously, but it's neat to be at their level walking around them. There's a kid play zone to let the kids burn off some energy while the adults relax a bit. Equipped with sandbox, egg features to play/climb on, musical instrument installations, sliding/sledding hill, and cargo net spider web. Something new they've added is a trading card feature inside the gorilla observation post. You go here to pick an animal to learn more about. Grab a sheet and pencil, find the animal on your sheet at the zoo & answer some questions about it. Once it's filled in, take it to the front gate and you get a trading card of that animal.

Great excursion... Strolled the park in 75 minutes, stopped to enjoy each exhibit. Got up close to Lion, Giraffe, Gorilla, Leopard, Kangaroo, beautiful tropical birds... $20.00 was worth it. Now I get why they limit capacity for 2hour time slots. We went from 3-5pm and

For some reason, Google will not allow businesses to answer questions directly at this time, but I work at the Zoo and can confirm Jay's answer. You can find more info here: https://www.sbzoo.org/visit-the-santa-barbara-zoo/. Look forward to seeing you at the Zoo, Catherine!

Adults too, well at least I did last year lol. I also slide down the grass hill on cardboard or sometimes you get lucky and there's a food tray which are much faster, and that's every visit.

Yes . They have a few of the best picnic area you can find very easily.
I saw several service animals but I'd call to confirm.
You can just walk in and buy the train tickets. Parking lot are always available. You don’t need to book via website.
We were once earlier then our time slot and they didn't had a problem with it. I belive you would be fine but in any case you can give them a quick call just for your pice of mind.
You will have to make a reservation in advanced on their website but tickets range from $14.95 - $19.95 :)
No. It's a great exhibit.
These animals are a part of Santa Barbara, and most families make time to go visit more than one per year. It's easy, clean, and these animals appreciate you. 😃
Yes, a day before to go more safely.
Yeah I went a week or two ago and did not notice any being there. But if you drive there I don't think it's that big of deal if you had to go to your car and they would let you come back in. At least this is how it is at some of the other smaller zoo's and aquarium's I've been to. Honestly I'm just guessing, I may be way off. Just try calling them and ask. The guy at the front gate that helped us was super nice and efficient.
Yes, you have to reserve, but on weekdays there is regular availability and you can enter without having a reservation, but the weekend is almost always full
not all of our food venues are open, but most of them are, and on weekends the hilltop restaurant is open 4–7 PM
When you purchase your tickets online you pick your arrival time.
I did not see any while there recently as some of the exhibits were still closed. They do have a baby lion, silver backs, otters and giraffes to name just a few.
Prices are $ 19.95 / Adults (13+), $ 14.95 / Children (2-12), free for children 0-2 www.sbzoo.org
I'm a current Zoo employee...strollers are not allowed on the Zoo Train due to space limitations. Thanks!
Members can enter earlier than non-members
Yes, they were all out laying together when we're were there and there was no line really
No, I don't think so. Online prices are listed as $15 for children ages 2-12 and $20 for adults ages 13+.

hi Noel, for some reason Google won't let businesses answer questions directly at this thism, but I work at the Zoo and can confirm Karen's answer: the Zoo doesn't allow RV parking in our lot (as it's pretty small). Here's a link of local resources for more info: https://www.santabarbaraca.gov/gov/depts/waterfront/parking/oversized.asp. Palm Park is the closest to the Zoo, and there is a free shuttle you can hop on to get to the Zoo from there.
Nope. https://www.sbzoo.org/visit/zoo-accessibility/ But all the other animals provide lots of emotional support, too!
I believe they are open till 5 like any other day
No they'll scan them from your phone for you
While the Santa Barbara Zoo has had sloths in the past, sloths are not currently listed as part of their animals on exhibit. The sloths had been part of the Eewwww! exhibit that includes invertebrates like spiders and insects as well as snakes, bats, and a number of different amphibians.
The website says they have strollers and wagons for rent. Single stroller $7/$6 for SB Zoo Members Double stroller $9/$8 for SB Zoo Members Wagon $8/$7 for SB Zoo Members
Yes
It is free for kids under 2. When I went last weekend the parking was free for some reason. Other than that you would need to check their website for any future discounts.
No
18 for adults plus parking and children 4 and older. Good luck!
So I asked a few people at the zoo and they didn't even know they started charging for parking. The one person who did know about it said it was more of a donation thing. When leaving the parking they don't even check receipts
Hello, sandra k such? $ 18 x adult, $ 12 x children I recommend you better the annual pass and $ 98 dollars page
Just try to coordinate with the pizza place your ordering from I honestly dont see why not.
I haven't paid attention to signs talking about minimum age to be alone, but as Edgar mentions, if you have younger kids I'd definitely want them to be supervised so they don't go into areas they aren't supposed to be in.
Pedro for the late reply, they are open today from 10-5
Eighteen for adults, and ten for children.
I really dont know, haven't been to LA zoo in about 16 years
Don't have a clue. You can log into their web page and may find out the price there
If I remember correctly they do
The scooter is $30 dollars for the whole day, while the manual wheelchair is $7
Adults $ 18 Children $ 10
Yes they are open..
I don't recall the member pricing but the non-member pricing is $18 for adults and $10 for kids 2-12. Under 2 gets in free.
I think it was 18$ for adults and 12$ for kids. We purchased the 110$ year-round family pass
$18 for adults, Children $10. There is a discount if you become a Zoo member.
I don't recall seeing bees -- but I'm sure if you stray and approach plants in bloom, you will encounter some.
Thanks for your answer, but that's not true. There is no alternative nearby. There is a parking ban on any vehicle longer than 22 feet in Santa Barbara. So you can't park anywhere. And that is ok, but I don't understand why there is no parking lot outside of town with a shuttle service, or why tourist attractions like a zoo don't offer at least the option to park at a more expensive rate. Never felt so unwelcome as in Santa Barbara.
Our little zoo caled the child estate zoo is open 10 to 5 pm exlent time with my family grand daughters and my son Rayn he treated us to a fantastic time then we we're invited to a BBQ at matt and nova, we're just awesome I have not seen or talked to anyone who was at the BBQ at casa Del campos that was a great BBQ, you have a wonderful weekend sincerely yours Eric
That's a really good question. I know there are stroller rentals, and is hilly, but i don't remember seeing wheel chairs. Your best bet is to call and ask
There is some hills, but in general you can take her.
From 10 - 5
You don't need it
Yes
You can buy tickets online to avoid waiting in the admission lines, but lines for buying tickets don't take as long, plus you can add giraffe feedings or train ride tickets with your purchase.
Only service animals are allowed, excluding emotional support animals
The Zoo is open every day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas. We occasionally close early for special events.
You can take Amtrak to the Santa Barbara station and then take the city shuttle that goes up and down Cabrillo Blvd. The zoo is a short walk from Cabrillo along Ninos Drive.
I don't believe so. I can't remember getting one when I've been there. And I ask all the time.
