The owner missed an opportunity when his employees and then he first encountered SLO County Observer. Amongst many things, his forge makes kitchenware. His products are not sold in the big box retailers like Walmart. He competes with much less expensive made-in-China kitchenware as well as other makers of high-quality carbon steel kitchenware - a niche market. He is in the business of selling things. A lot of his publicity comes from reviews on social media. This video will get tens of thousands of views. Several of SLO's videos have hundreds of thousands of views. If 10 people think 'He seems like a good guy and makes interesting products, I'll buy something from him' that's a few thousand dollars in sales. Don't sell, goodbye big investment. Manufacturing in the US is tough, uphill even. To his credit, he shifted fire and comes off well in the end. Had it been like this from the start... If it were my business: 'Check out what we make! You want to see how we do it?'

Placed order on January 30, and still waiting! Reached out twice by email and one voice message, but no response from the blacksmith. UPDATE: the blacksmith responded with information on expected ship date of the skillet we ordered. I will do a further update when we received our order.
