I had set my appointment back in September 2020 when their backlog was on only six months. I flew from Seattle to do so. You just need to go to their website and actually sign up. Asking it here will not satisfy your question: https://pcgsanfrancisco.org/passport/ Two important tips: 1. Sign up on the website. They are not known to return phone calls or emails. 2. Take your appointment time seriously. Show up on time for your verified appointment and none of this "Filipino Time" nonsense.
Unfortunately, it will most likely be next year. My Wife scheduled our appointment in October and we were scheduled for our appointment a couple days ago April 14th. She asked while she was there and they told her that they were booked until next year.
