Hello Carol, Thank you for your input. The screening fee covers the cost of the background check- which we order through the vendor we use. The fee also somewhat covers the absorption of company time in checking references. Looking at the local competition, screening fees run $45-$70. Our company seems to be well within the reasonable range. It should be noted that QPM does not accept screening fees from multiple parties for a single rental. We only screen one family at a time, on a first come-first serve basis. To date, we do not have any issues placing tenants due to a $50 screening fee. However, some tenants do have issues coming up with deposits and the first months rent. Thank you for your time in providing feedback. QPM
50$ is fairly reasonable considering you're paying that after you've found a place. Most places charge you 40 to even apply and get on the list
Thank you for your comment - it will be referred to the QPM General Manager. QPM's screening fee to process free submitted applications is posted throughout the QPM office, on page one of the hard-copy Application and on the QPM website when a potential Applicant hits "Apply Now" from any advertised property.
