Hi Theresa, So sorry to hear about your grandson's dog. Unfortunately, there aren't any low cost vet care resources in this area. We always recommend reaching out to friends, neighbors, relatives, and post online/social media and ask people to help you take your dog to the vet. You can also call around to see what different vet offices charge for a visit. Lastly, you can consider applying for a Care Credit card, which is a credit card that can be used at most vets. If there is no other option and you are unable to get your dog to the vet for medical care, you can always call us to talk about surrendering ownership to us, if you live in Chittenden or Grand Isle county. This is often the last resort for folks who want to keep their pet, but it is an option worth considering if you need to. You would need to call us at 802-862-0135 to speak with someone about scheduling an intake appointment.
