No, it was filmed in cinemascope and surround sound so it had to be played on a curved cinemascope screen with surround sound. It's debut in RI was up the street at the Hope St. Cinema the only cinemascope screen in RI. I think i was 16 at the time so that would put it at about 1969! Cinemascope it turned out was just too expensive to film in requiring multiple syncronized cameras. So,... after a few movies were made it fell out of favor and they tore down all the cinemascope theaters. I'll never forget it though. I sat about 4 rows back right in the middle of the row. The surround sound was coming at me from all sides, in quadrophonic. To top it off i don't remember there being but a handfull of people there that day. Maybe because it was more expensive than the regular theaters. But it did play at the Avon Cinema in the early 80's. I took a bunch of friends there to see it because it hadn't been playing anywhere for so long.
I don't believe so, from what I can find it debuted at the Uptown Theater in Washington DC.
