I was here for the international BBQ competition so it was really busy in the area. I felt safe. There was lots of police presence in the area and the parking lot was cordoned off with staff limiting it to hotel patrons.
I felt completely safe. I agree that you have to be conscious of your surroundings no matter where you are but in and around the hotel is well lit so I wasn't uncomfortable
I felt safe around the hotel area. As anywhere you travel, stay around areas where other people are visible and that are well lit at night.
I stayed for 3 nights and had absolutely no problems. Friendly folks as well.
I worked there for three years and everyone I have spoken to all have felt safe it's not as bad as the bigger cities are.

Yea I felt very safe while I stayed there the downtown area is very clean and well patrolled by police not that it is needed.
