Its an arena for games and concerts, safe is relative to which event you go to, but there plenty of security on premises
During events there are plenty of Tampa pd plus security. Area under construction but safe.
Downtown area has a lot of homeless but around the arena is a restaurant area and several high end apartment/condo buildings. Thus relatively safe for kids
