I will suggest to send mail from the contact us section on the website. They reply to that pretty quickly and regularly. Calling is surely a pain.
If you want to get someone on the line you need to press option 2 when it asks you if you're a platinum member whether you are or not press that option can you get someone on the line. FYI the earlier you call the better. But I will be honest with you I don't know if they'll give you a refund. But you lose nothing and trying and they may give you a discount on your next trip
I'm not sure why it takes calling do many times but I've spent two days trying sorry
