Every time we've been to Sweetwater, we've seen gators, birds, and the last time, we even saw a pack of wild horses and a foal!
I'd recommend going to La Chua Trail for alligators. I've never seen one at Sweetwater
You can see alligators here for sure but not the best place for alligators. There were lot of wading and migrating birds.
Unknown but we never saw one there...mostly they stay hidden just in general.
I've seen large Gators every time i have been there.
As soon as the Gators come outta hibernation, it's almost 100% in our experience...
There is often a large one in the waterway between cell 1 and 2 and another around the nw corner of cell 1. Also along the path that runs along the West edge of 2 and 3
Saw 3 big alligators today basking in the sun. Saw lots of exotic birds. Sadly most of La Chua trail has been inaccessible lately due to high water levels.
I have seen them at Sweetwater, but La Chua has a lot more.
I was there Dec 28 and I saw 6 alligators. I walked half the park
Not likely to see many with the temperatures this week. But they are there.
Not that likely I think. Plenty of other places to go if you want to see them
If you go over the red bridge and then go straight, you can often see one on the bank or just in the water.
I saw a couple in the water when I was there...that was when the weather was warm..not certain about now
