Not sure about a tour, but as Steve said there are maps and no need for a tour. Take your binoculars, camera and tripod and you are set. Enjoy a fantastic wild life park. What a treasure!
Don't know about tour but there is no need for guidance. The raised trails are loops you cannot get lost. We saw alligators, birds and wild horses.
There are Ranger led tours the first Saturday of the month at 8:30 am. There are also second Sunday Ranger led tours in the afternoon; times vary based on closing time (check the website Sweetwaterwetlands.org or the Facebook page for times). Both of these tours meet at the boardwalk pavilion and are free with the park admission fee ($5/vehicle or $2/pedestrian). These tours are to learn about the history and purpose of the park, and of course, the rangers are happy to answer any additional questions. Random tours and events happen throughout the year; craft stations, plants walks, night hikes, etc. Check their website for more details on those. During COVID, only socially distant ranger tours are being offered for now. Pre-registration is required. Check out their website for more details. Hope this helps!
Yes there is. Tours are mostly for the park rangers to answer any questions you might have about any of the animals or really anything else about the park that you wouldn't necessarily find on your own
If you go to their website they have sporadic tours listed by date. They have a Rangers tour but it appears on Sunday. They also have bird tours during the week. I was there on a Saturday morning and there were not any tours at that time. However, as stated above, the place is well marked, open, and the trails loop so,imo, it is worth the trip on your own.
