I haven't asked but i'm sure it has a lot to do with the remaining value in a given car, vs. the value they can expect to get by putting a "new" car in that space. If it's a popular model and year, i wouldn't expect it to be there more than a few months, because people will strip it down more quickly. But now, if it looks good but is not as commonly owned, it might take a while to be moved out. If you really liked something you saw on it, and you can afford to get it now, then i'd get it now, because as you suggest, the vehicle could be recycled faster than you might think.
Thank you much! Yes the car that I speak of is not commonly seen. As a matter of fact I have seen maybe 3 driving on the road. Ive already taken some things from it but I plan to go back for a few more parts id break the bank for online. This car was such great shape when i found it that it still had the keys, owners manual, tow hook still in package, and many other parts in packages.
