Yes get a second opinion at UC Davis. I'd be concerned about your new Veterinarian's rush. Agree with above don't use emergency for this. They will guide you to making appointments in the right department. Probably Internal Medicine in the small animal clinic
Yes get a second opinion and also recommendations for moving forward. I have taken 4 dogs here for procedures. Call UCD Vet Med Community Service # for an appointment. Do not go to emergency services. It is expensive. UCD Vet Med is # 1 in the world.
We took our pup, they were nice and through. Not cheap, $170 for vist, and surgery wasn't cheap either. Insurance didn't pay for second opinion, which didn't help. May I suggest looking closer to home. Ask some dog owners you know who they trust and get your second opinion there. I understand, they're more than pets their family.
