What is the policy if there are 2 people on the lease and one wants to move out because they are no longer in a relationship. The other person that is staying has moved someone else in. How do you get your name off the lease?

I did tell them I needed my name off the lease but they said I have to pay for breaking the lease. The problem is me ex n her sister still live in the apartment..So how do I get my name off the lease? I don't live there and my ex is already in another relationship. I don't want to catch a criminal case behind this . WHAT DO I DO TO GET MY NAME OFF THIS LEASE WITH MY EX

Go into the office and tell them you no longer live there if any damages occur you will be held responsible as well as the other person cause your name is still on the lease

Go to the lease office tell them the other person will have to be added so that you are no longer responsible for the rent or terms of the lease if they are not approve they can still hold you responsible if the total rent nit paid
