Yes, book in advance! Their rooms are not private so be prepared to play with others. If you do want a private experience, I would book during their early slots and hope no one else books.
Check Groupon. My wife paid 78 for the both of us no Groupon discount and 50 for the both of us with the Groupon. They have 3 rooms and they have are different cost also. Keep in mind it's Halloween and the demand is higher so higher prices, usually.
Definitely try to book in advance, but on the website, it will show you times still available for that day. So you can sometimes get same day tickets. Also use groupon to get the discount, and if you're looking for something really interactive, I did the basement, but I thought the study was waay better. Like there's a lot going on as far as it being a room with neat things to solve and not just a house with a bunch of locks. With groupon it's like $49 for 2 people, cuz it's not your typical escape room. The study was so worth it though, and they added a brand new one that im waiting to try with my friends, cuz they changed the boiler room. Great place though. Staff is really dedicated.
You do book in advance, can be same day booking though. Cost is about $35 per person, but they often have discounts of a few dollars.
