This so called emergency shelter made me wait for 3 days and nights in their parking lot... waiting for an "available" room. My feet froze solid and turned blue causing me all kinds of health problems. NO! THAT is NOT what an emergency shelter is supposed to do to people! As far as I know, you have to call them early in the morning and only hope that they can find room for ya. Of the 3 different shelters I stayed in in the Omaha/ Council Bluffs area...this was by far the nastiest one I was in. BUT when I went back because I was cold and it was close to Christmas...there was no room at the Inn. Personally, I think the womens dorms need to be rebuilt to look similar to the men's dorms...AND I think that it should be illegal for those facilities to get any kind of grant if they aren't willing to move around everything they can to accommodate people who are truly homeless. It's sad to know that over 500 people died in 2017 because of the way those facilities have learned to defraud...
Men's side check out is 730 am check in time is 430 handicap 530 er body else if you leave after 11pm you can't come back in no alcohol on property but you can check inn into a mat intoxicated.
Its a warm, safe, and for being a shelter its very clean. They are very good about getting the Mat's, linens, n facility disinfected. Last I remember it's 11pm.
Thay r pack in the winter 11pm is the lates u can go out front watch out for bedbugs
I'm coming out.
As COVID-19 cases arise , with the new variant ( Delta ) coming around those that gets vaccinations done and those that don’t . That still have a chance , even though they still get sick from the food they serve at the shelter , it’s not the best with donuts that are stale every single morning,
Winter or not be there by 10 sharp or yoy wont get in!
I think you can come any time. And they might be packed but they wont turn you down during the winter season!
