Can they or will they have a copy of a birth certificate for a refugee who came over in the late 80’s from Vietnam? He has his green card, but has lost his birth certificate which was issued somewhere in anew Orleans when he was only 9 years old

@manuela.... but he had a American birth certificate which he was issued, and it listed his place of birth as Vietnam, he was issued this when he went to New Orleans. Also, he has no family left in Vietnam, and being born in 1972 they prob don’t have any records, we are not even sure if his mom recorded the birth. If there is no record, they will not make another one without someone who can verify his birth.

If you need the vietnamese birth certificate you need to make this request to the Vietnamese gov maybe in the embassy/consulate. But if you are talking about the naturalizacion certificate. You need to fill up some forms and pay around $500 for a new copy.
