I believe kids are allowed, but as other folks have stated, the place generally caters to the "older" crowd, and table service is more enhanced than your traditional restaurants. I haven't seen many patrons with children when I have been there. I have mostly gone for business lunches/dinners.
Nice restaurant, good food. Not really for kids
I would not take kids below the age of 10. Don’t ruin the experience for other patrons with a crying child.
I beg to differ with Leo's opinion. Amelia simply wants to know if its kid friendly. Amelia it is a kid friendly place but the majority of patrons that go here are an older crowd on date night or anniversary. The food is not the most amazing thing in the world but they do provide good service table side and make you feel special.
We brought our baby on our anniversary last year. It is very upscale, but they were totally ok with us being there because the second the baby started to fuss, we would take turns feeding him outside. As long as you're conscientious that people are dropping $200-300 a person on this dining experience, you'll definitely be welcomed to bring your child or children.
Not really
A bit Sophisticated for kids, but I'll bet they make them feel welcome anyway...
It is kid friendly, however not really for very young children. I have seen children, and have gone as a child myself. (Firehouse has been around for a very long time). Definitely not for a impatient child in that due to the nature of courses served, mist young children will be done with the waiting before long. I love the Firehouse for special date nights. Can be a more expensive option. Good luck!
Hi Amelia, The Firehouse is one of Sacramento's more upscale places. Imagine something along the lines of a Ruth's Cris or Morton's for comparison: waiters wear suits, sommeliers on staff, meals often typically come with an amuse bouche and/or palate cleanser course, they have a generally leisurely pace of service, boast an extensive wine list, pre fixe meals and so forth. Im sure they would be happy to accommodate kids (particularly for events) but if the kids are very young they may get restless or bored.
Yes but very upscale
