I have a book (Life’s Letters and Journals) that has an inscription and is signed by Miss Alcott dated December 31, 1887. Would there be someone to contact who might be interested in purchasing it? Thank you for your time.

This inscription is a pre-printed message that appears in all copies of this book. This was indeed written by Louisa in 1887, but as the book was not published until 1889 (after Louisa's death), it would have been impossible for this to be an original inscription. Louisa frequently used this inscription method with her children's books as well.

I'd contact Antiques Road Show or Kovels Antiques to get an estimated value on it first, unless you already know. Then I'd sell on eBay. The museum may have interest moreso in donations. You'd have to call to inquire.
