An amazing cemetery! Check out authors ridge and also notice the engravings on the tombstone. These were very resilient people. Their tombstone are noticeable not austere unlike the tombstones in the old burial ground that has more of the original founders of concord, which were puritans. Check out the visitor center for awesome tours! General history and specialized available!
John Nesbit
Beautiful cemetery filled with history. So many notable people lived in Concord, this no surprise. Most visitors will head to the author's ridge area for Thoreau, Emerson, Alcott, and Hawthorne.

Really well maintained historical cemetery. Visit Author Hill and take your time to see the many historical figures resting here.

Beautiful cemetery. I normally like to walk at a fairly quick pace going through a cemetery but, this one felt peaceful. It was lovely to walk through and amazing to see the resting places of such notable, distinguished authors on Author's Ridge. Highly recommend.

Hi Ben, Flags are placed annually for Memorial Day and are removed just prior to Veterans Day when they are all retired properly in a ceremony at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. This has been the tradition in Concord since the mid 1970s when it was determined that the flags should not be out all year as the weather fades and damages the flags. Typically they are placed 2 weeks prior to Memorial Day and this year it is scheduled for May 11th. If you have any questions or would like any further information please call the office 978-318-3233
Hi Peter, No the cemetery is open to the public daily and there is not a fee.
Sorry no, we sell interment space to current and former residents of Concord only.
