One part dish soap ten parts tap water, spray on plant. This won't harm the plant. Also you can take Pam vegetable spray, lightly spray the plant it will also give it a shinny look. Pam also works in bromiliads to stop the breeding of mosquito. Good luck .!

Ok without a photo I'll say that I can't be 100% accurate. The most likely suspect common with indoor plants are fungus gnats. A simple, safe way to treat would be to buy Mosquito Bits , same as mosquito dunks but broken in to small pieces. Sprinkle them on the soil of your indoor plants and water in well. This should alleviate your problem if it is fungus gnats. This is a biological insect control and poses no harm to animals or people. It targets the fungus gnat and mosquito larvae specifically. If you can catch any of them you can also bring samples to the extension for ID. Hope this helped.
