We were there on Veterans Day and the post said -50 butterflies. We saw 5 flying up high. Is there a better date when there are more to see? Also only 10 people allowed, depends on how much time people spend at the viewing platform

I believe they are more active when it is over 65°. There weren't very many when I was there either but it was a cool day. Definitely bring binoculars.

This year is a very low population year.

We were there on Veterans Day and was able to see the clusters but they are way up high in the tree. Would recommend binoculars for better view. Each clusters would easily have about a 100 or so butterflies. We saw about 3 at eye level.
