It was going great until I was asked to move back in the line when I was clearly at the register first and ready to pay. Very poor customer service. Not sure if it was discrimination which I have never experience at Santacruz. It was extremely upsetting and my kids had to experience this

This used to be the best Marini’s location. Sadly the last few times I’ve been in, the staff quality seems to have rapidly declined. Mostly 16-18 year olds who have no basic knowledge of customer service skills. I went in last Thursday to get some shaved ice. Gal at the counter apologized and said the shaved ice freezer broke that morning. Not a problem! I got some candy and milk chocolate marshmallow clouds instead. Stopped by again today (Tuesday) and asked if they had shaved ice and the gal said “the shaved ice freezer just stopped working this morning.” I told her “that’s weird, the girl last Thursday said it broke that morning” She fumbled for a second before telling me “oh, yeah, it’s like still broken then.” Honestly, fairly annoying. She could’ve just said they weren’t doing shaved ice instead of lying directly to my face. That being said, I still got a scoop of ice cream. The candy is usually great, but definitely overpriced as any tourist style candy and chocolate shop is. The fudge, Carmel apples, marshmallow clouds and ice cream are always amazing. And the shaved ice is my favorite when they have it. My dogs also give the dipped dog bones 5/5.

OMG this store is amazing! The wonderful aroma as you walk in are accented by the friendly staff who greet you and show you the vast variety of treats throughout the shop. We were bright in by a friend who is a local, and I absolutely recommend you stop in and stock up!

Everything is overpriced. An ornament for 15 dollars? Got some assorted candy for almost 8 dollars a pound. They were just ok. Sales girls were overwhelming to keep asking..."can I help u?" Must have got asked atleast 7 times in 10 mins. Then when I got helped... the girl was rushing and I didn't feel that she was too nice as I spent a lot there. Also got an ice cream cone. They have unique flavored ice cream but why don't they push the ice cream DOWN in the cone. It's like 4 bucks, a small sized scoop and no ice cream in the cone? Wth?
