Yes just wait another year and it will come off the DMV record and then you can register it at a normal price it comes off at 10 years and some states do it at 7 years so you might want to just check with the DMV before you take it to the AAA

Yeah I went six years unregistered and the DMV doesn't cut any slack. I was lucky only because the agent I dealt with fudged some of the paperwork.

Yes. But it's going to cost a LOT of money to get it current. Ask yourself, is it worth it?
