There are wallabys in the Australian enclosure that are not separated from people as you walk through. They're docile but if you're uneasy you don't have to go into the Australian section
The only places that you would encounter animals with no separation from a guest are the Australian Adventure, the petting zoo (Kraal), giraffe feeding, walk-in aviaries and small animals the volunteers and staff bring out for guests to learn about. It's a very safe place and places where any animal might contact a guest are evident before you enter.
Some are but not to be afraid of
No
It is a nice place to go on a Birthday. It is safe with the animals and birds. Have a fabulous day and don't worry about birds attacking you. Enjoy your day. :-)
Most animals are in their exhibit. However, there is a butterfly exhibit where they fly around you and you can interact with them by feeding them on your hand. There is also a "Petting Kraal" where the animals roam freely in their exhibit with you if you go in and you can pet them. You can also feed the giraffes by hand. You can stand a safe, comfortable distance if are aren't interested in feeding them. That is all I can think of from when we last visited. I did not notice birds being an issue when we were there, but I didn't have food to feed them that may have attracted them to us. The zoo is very safe and I highly recommend checking it out. Happy birthday!
Nope. All are in their habitats.
No. All animals are kept, securely, in their own habitat
