My 23 y/o Desert Tortoise is in hibernation, in a box, in my bedroom closet. He is moving from time to time and I hear him scratching as he shifts or moves. Is this a normal thing ? He has always hibernated in a shed, outdoors.

This is probably normal considering how much cooler it is this year. Plus your closest is a lot more temperature controlled. Last make sure he has water to drink.
