Yes. There are signs that say it is ok to eat the tilapia. I saw fishermen recently at the Salton Sea. You can also call the State Park to confirm this.

Most of the introduced species did not survive in the lake because of the salinity and the Algae blooms they get. I wouldn't eat anything out of the canals where the water is more diluted becausevof the chemicals in the runoff There is a type of Tilapia and a Desert fish.
