If my husband and I are planning a trip to San Diego - how many days should we commit to the Borrego State Park to view desert flowers and some great hikes? Is it best to stay in a motel in the town of Borrego Springs for the easiest accessibility?

It doesn't take long to see the blooming desert. It will depend how long you 0lan to hike.There are many campgrounds but don't know about hotels

The flowers are concentrated in half a dozen small areas so you can see them in a day but the park has a lot of other features and wild life that are worth investigating. A good 4wd will open up more to see and of course exploring by foot takes even longer. It is a big park with lots to see depending on your interest. Lots of trailer and motor homes parked on BLM land very near the visitor center which I believe is free.

A day or two should be fine, but it really depends on how much hiking you want to do.
