Anza-Borrego has four developed campgrounds, eight primitive campgrounds, and also allows unlimited roadside camping following established rules: Do not camp more than one car length from any dirt or paved road. Do not camp within 100 ft of any water source. Pack it in, pack it out. Ground fires are not permitted. A metal container must be used for all campfires.
By and large, you can camp anywhere, unless it's marked no camping. All fires must be in some sort of container
Yes, you're right. People camp all over the place. However there are camping grounds managed by the state park. Reserving a spot in advance is helpful. 😊
Outside the park there are areas that are open camping.
Open camping, per the rules at the park website is allowed INSIDE the park. Open lands around the town of Borrego Springs are private, tresspass and squatting is not ok just for convenience. Please camp in the park. The open camping rules for the park do not mean a free-for all everywhere.
Pretty much covered it.
What they said!😊
