The trees that really stand out are the bay Laurel. You can smell it throughout the park and in many places you walk on fallen bay leaves. The next big category are oaks. Watch for their acorns on the ground. The Madrones are easily recognized by their orange-brown trunks.

Hello Izetta. Coe is home to seven varieties of deciduous and live oaks. Other trees include California buckeye, Pacific madrone, California bay laurel, and Bigleaf maple. There are only two species of pine known in the park: gray pine and ponderosa pine. Although it is in fact a shrub, Bigberry manzanita is often mistaken for a tree due to its large size.
