I am a member of AAA for many years. I am planning a trip and would like travel insurance with AAA. I am not planning the trip through AAA services. Can I still use AAA for travel insurance only?

When did AAA stop travel insurance? I just googled it and saw that my office does still offer travelers insurance. I'm not sure who through but i trust AAA and would go through them to obtain insurance.

AAA doesn't have travel insurance. They will point you to Allianz. I use and recommend Allianz for International and domestic travel. Update I asked less than 4 months ago, the AAA travel agent told me they use Allianz. I only ask because I thought I might be able to get a discount off Allianz as a AAA member. We don't, but there rates are so low, who cares. And Allianz covers AAA travel packages, I was told. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to go online on Allianz website and get the travel insurance. If you're traveling internationally they're the only reputable insurance for car coverage and medical, along with the usual travel insurance. Like trip interruption or *covered* cancellation. Today thankfully I haven't had to use it knock on wood, but worth the Peace of Mind. Talk to several people that have actually used it for major medical and cancellation purposes. If you rent a car online it's Allianz who cover the insurace if you check the box.

Yes we do offer additional insurance on an existing trips. Although if you do ever decide to book a rip through AAA you do get a lot of travel benefit including some insurance depending on your level of membership.
