I've been parking there for years with no issues. The park service goes by the lot regularly since its the same road for them to use to access the mines.

Parking area reasonably secure. . .?

I'm not sure about reaching the summit of Diablo, however our guide told us there was over two hundred miles of trails in ares surrounding the Black Diamond mine. He claimed to have hiked most of them.

You would have trouble hiking them all in one day. No route to Diablo though.

Yes. There are multiple trails going out of the park and linking up with a lot of the other parks in the area. One of them links with the iron horse trail I believe.

Yes , you can reach Mt Diablo State Park. The trail goes through Clayton. Not sure of the mileage. I've ridden a bicycle out that way and back.

I believe there is over 30 miles of trails. Is it possible to get to mt. Diablo from there? If you had a couple days.
