Honestly, this is in my top few favorite parks in the East Bay. It is quiet, clean, and the rangers are very helpful. I think I have been visiting here for close to 25 years, and it has improved so much over that time. Absolutely love it.

Really nice and very clean!! EBRPD staff were SUPER NICE and very helpful. Lots of parking, picnic tables in the shade, very clean restrooms and well managed trails. Looking forward to more trips here.

Beautiful green rolling hills during springtime. Literally a Microsoft wallpaper, but in real life! Kiosk was closed when I visited, according to website they’re “seasonally open” so not sure when they start collecting fees. Took advantage of that fact and we enjoyed an amazing hike with views of Mt Diablo, the delta, and surrounding hills. Beautiful wildflowers everywhere! Dog friendly as well, our dogs enjoyed the hike off leash.

Had a great time at this trail. Overall it’s not a very exciting and picturesque trail. No stream and not much trees. Round valley is a better trail.

For me last sunday was $5 per car and $5 a head for the tour.
Yes. They will ask if you have dogs, but it is allowed. I believe there is an extra fee, and they will give you the "speech" about wildlife, leashes and cleaning up after your dog
I think so, I’ve record a lot.
I would say check their website and/or call them. I heard they were looking for docents.
They lock up at night! I believe 8pm. So no star gazing from here.
The mine itself is closed off. But the areas around it are open during park hours
No
Yes
🤣
As of 12 - 22 - 2020 Black Diamond regional preserve is open however; the mine, Greet house visitor center and Sydney flats visitor center are closed and Will remain closed until further notice. That means that mine tours are canceled for the forseeable future.
Any age is welcome in the park. To go in the mines you have to be 7 or older. Just be cautious in the summer months as it gets extremely hot.
There are many pictures and videos in Google maps. I'm sure there are many more online.
I've been parking there for years with no issues. The park service goes by the lot regularly since its the same road for them to use to access the mines.
Carnegie to the South, or cow mountain near Ukiah to the North for Dirt Bikes is your best bet.
