Yes we loved tent camping and hiking there
We've only ever camped there in a tent. We've also done quite a bit of hiking in the area and we've yet to run into any larger wildlife.
Yes for the most part it is i take my three little guys and never had any problems but like anywhere off the map you should expect to run into some wild animals
