It's pretty flat at the entrance, but go in the spring or fall if you want to hike for more than a quarter mile.

My 3 year old did it. If they can't climb the ladders and ropes, then a parent definitely needs to carry them over the obstacles.
I think if they can climb ladders they'll be fine. If they're active, I'd say six years old can do it. It's hot though, I'd be more worried about that. Go in the winter or early spring.

No there are ladders and ropes that you need to climb. Unless your kids are masters at the jungle gym than I wouldn't bring them. I've seen too many people come with children that they carry while they are on this hike. Majority of the turn back around.
