Would you be able to take a rwd sportscar to a near parking spot and walk the rest? Saw a post about 4x4s being recommended.

No problem. I was there a few months ago and lots of "sedans" coming and going. Just slow and steady and enjoy the hike!

Okay, so all of the people mentioning sedans having no problem obviously don't understand that most of those sedans are front wheel drive, and have a lot more ground clearance than a sports car. A rwd sports car is totally different from a fwd sedan. You may manage it fine, but I wouldn't take my rwd sports car anywhere near it. Camry? Okay. Camero? Maybe. Corvette? No.

Better in a 4wd, but my little fwd Hyundai Elantra did an awesome job. Have fun.

Truly...I would say nothing less than a truck..four wheeled drive

Best not to risk it in rwd, just 4x4 or awd

Last Thanksgiving was long time ago. Now there is alot of area that is soft sand and u may get stuck or hit a rock. But yes 4 x 4 is recommended.

I made this question a while back. I used a V6 S197 Mustang with a 7.5 axle (non LSD) and made it through. I helped a few people get unstuck. Had a recovery board from my backup truck with a 4x4. This turned out as a project for a YouTube video but wasn’t as entertaining. Made the question to see how many others have tried. Most probably won’t admit going through, but being there i saw a few fwd cars, 2 were already stuck and didn’t even have water bottles with them so I gave them spares i had in my trucks ice chest. So to answer my own question: it’s possible, not recommended at all, my mustang actually got stuck once but was quickly recovered by reversing out. My mustang is also lowered. This is a trail that I’ve been bringing my truck to every other week, always help others when needed but NEVER COME HERE ALONE!

We were there in May and saw plenty of sedans coming without problems. Take it real slow though
