I took the tram up Dec. 26th. 2018 and there was at least 2-5 inches of snow in most of the wilderness that I was in. Snow should be present for another few months. Check weather at the peak for a better idea. It changes about every 15 minutes.
No guarantee of snow. Watch the forcast. There is plenty to do in Mt. San Jacinto as well as Idywild.
You will be in palm springs, there is lots to do in thst area.
