Yes there is a discount for Vets and yes they do have WW2 Vets but not always from Iowa.

I visited it in August And it's was all free as long as your a iowa residence and also they will announce your name if you were in the war

There are discounts for Veterans and active duty, with appropriate identification. If visiting with someone who is serving, or has served, an announcement can be made in their honor. You will just need to provide name, rank, branch, and dates of service. Staff at a desk on deck will take the information, and make the announcement.

Likely we saw a few veterans on board, prices are fair and doubt there's a discount, kids under 6 are free

I was on board recently for about 2 hours and I remember about 5 announcements recognising veterans of all areas visiting the ship. It is unclear if/how many served on iowa however
