They are the worst, 15 days ago I've been waiting for a package of 26 pounds.
Some packages have special handling (think beds and mattresses) that may take longer for them to be delivered because of space in the driver's truck and the driver's schedule. Many drivers need to be certain places at certain times and make best efforts to deliver and complete their pick-ups. Also, if a package is wine for instance it requires a signature and after 3 attempts the service requests an individual to collect their package with photo ID. Peak season is here as well and the volume of packages increases substantially. All it takes is one piece of the giant logistics puzzle to be missing to cause a delayed delivery.
Because FedEx ground does not have a commitment date. Shipping through ground is significantly CHEAPER for a reason. You need a dedicated time frame? Ship EXPRESS.
