This is just a friendly PSA to anyone who reads this: GO ONTO THE DMV WEBSITE OR SPEAK TO A REP IN PERSON AND RESEARCH WHAT YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR AND WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU NEED TO BRING. DO NOT RELY ON UNOFFICIAL ANSWERS FROM UNKNOWN PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET. Seriously, don't be like this person. This is how mistakes happen and how you can seriously end up screwing yourself over.
You will need to have proof that you live in California too.. something like a letter addressed to you and sent to you will work for that.
