Bring an empty water bottle and keep refilling it at water fountains. You will need to stay hydrated and at $5 a water, save some money. :) As for food, I would think clever. Like a protein bar in a jacket pocket. It won't make a mess and probably won't set off a metal detector. If you have food allergies you can tell someone. I'd definitely bring an empty water bottle. I filled mine like 4x.

They allow you to take in water and small snacks but not real food.
They do not let outside food or drinks in. They have a bag check. That has been our experience.
You can bring water. They're pretty alright with some snacks like biscuits but I'm not sure if they'll allow real food. Haven't tried.
