Bring your own wood. Much like people bring their own snacks the movies. Do not scavenge firewood from the surrounding forest. Rangers frown upon it.

There is a big problem with invasive beetles (from Asia) that are killing the oaks in this (and other) parts of San Diego. The beetle is spreading by movement of firewood (beeltle larvae live in wood). It has unfortunately spread to other parts of SoCal at this point. All the different parks are trying to get people not transport firewood. There is a campaign called "buy it where you burn it." If you love these areas please don't move wood in or out. If you have to bring wood, make sure it is kiln dried and definitely do not take any wood from this area and transport it elsewhere. The forest thanks you!

It's crazy laws about gathering firewood that makes forest fires more prevalent. I encourage people to break the law by preventing fires.
