Prasia - I have the Spring 2018 Procedure Pricing Guide and for dogs, an amputation for a leg is $755, and $325 for a toe or a tail. Still, I guarantee wayyyyy cheaper than your vet. Hope that helps.

Helping hands is very discounted, but not free. I found that I was able to readily get up the funds necessary for my cat's surgery by creating a GoFundMe page. They're quite easy to set up and people tend to be quite helpful and generous when it comes to the care of a pet. I hope this helps.

How do you set up a GoFundMe Page? My 10 year old Chihuahua, who I love like crazy, needs her teeth pulled and her shots. I just went through a divorce after 33 years and he got me into a lot of debt because he walk out on his family and I hadn’t work in 17 years and now I’m 61. I want to take care of my dogs, 2 older Chihuahuas one of which needs a wheelchair for his back legs, he can kind of get around but wobbles when he stands and he’s my daughter’s dog and I can’t let anything happen to him, she had lost so much already, and I have a 3 year old Doberman and my old cat, Dusty. I was recommended by my vet to Helping Hands but like you said they still cost. Any help or siggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Carol

Search FB. There are groups that operate on donations. Then they provide assistance when possible to offset pet med expenses.

I think you will find the prices at Helping Hands less than anywhere else. The service is excellent for the price.
