Follow my advice and be indentured into a five year program that provides hands on training. To become a Journeyman Wireman in California requires 8000 hours of work & 1000 hours in the classroom. Our Local Union is only one of two which pays both your books & apprenticeship education in the IBEW. After you pass California State General Certified Electrician exam... you must complete a minimum of 32 hours of classroom instruction before you may take another exam. State Certification renews every 3 years.
All you need is your driver license and line school completion certification.
